A Rails and Backbone application developed for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum using statistical models to predict atrocity risk by time and location.

Early Warning Map

The Mission

The Early Warning Project utilizes statistical models from Dartmouth’s Department of Government and the Center for the Prevention of Genocide to forecast atrocity risks across regions and time periods.

The Interface

The application features an interactive map as its central component, serving dual purposes: data visualization and primary navigation. Users can explore blogs, graphs, expert opinion pools, and real-time country concern metrics through this cartographic interface.

As visitors scroll through content, the map remains fixed while updating dynamically with relevant information.
